BMW revealed two production, large displacement scooters, the C 600 Sport and C 650 GT.  Both bikes displace 647 cc from a parallel twin with CVT transmission.  They are rated at a healthy 60 hp.  BMW is touting the handling and performance of both models, with the GT tilted more toward long-distance comfort.
Here are the details of C 600 Sport and C 650 GT like its price, features, top speed, specs, photos etc....

First BMW Maxi Scooters C 600 Sport , C 650 GT Video | EICMA 2011.

Specifications
Both new BMW scooters are powered with an inline twin cylinder that cranks 60 horsepower from its 647-cc engine and reaches a top speed of about 100 miles per hour. Neither require shifting because the transmission is continuously variable.

The performance-oriented C 600 Sport situates the rider on a taller seat with a flatter handlebar. Built for two, with a floorboard for the rider and footrests for the passenger, the Sport's windscreen is mechanically adjustable, its body shape slightly more aggressive looking. A FlexCase under the seat expands to hold two helmets when the Sport is parked.

The C 650 GT seating is more relaxed, with a larger saddle, higher handlebar and adjustable backrest. Both the rider's and the passenger's feet rest on floorboards. The GT's windscreen is electronically adjustable.

The C 600 Sport and C 650 GT may be scooters, but they take many of their suspension and handling cues from BMW motorcycles, including an upside-down front fork and single swingarm. The wheels are large like a motorcycle's, with a wider tread than is normally found on a scooter. They are also equipped with anti-lock brakes.

Like its motorcycles, BMW's new scooters have electronic fuel injection to improve mileage and are outfitted with a catalytic converter to reduce tailpipe emissions. Fuel economy estimates haven't yet been released.

BMW C 600 Sport and C 650 GT Price : Pricing hasn't yet been announced either, but De Waal estimates that the scooters will cost about $10,000 when they enter the U.S. market next fall, most likely as a 2013 model.

The differences between the C 600 Sport and the C 650 GT at a glance
The sporty, dynamic scooter BMW C 600 Sport is characterised by a seat positioned for extremely active riding. This was made possible by the arrangement of the foot boards, seat, and handlebar in an ergonomic triangle. More fastidious needs for touring and long distance capabilities, on the other hand, are fulfilled by the luxurious C 650 GT. The rider and passenger can therefore adopt a more relaxed sitting posture that is highly appreciated especially over long stretches. The ergonomics designed for even greater passenger capability and comfort can be felt in particular on a more comfortable seat with adjustable backrest for the rider in conjunction with a higher handlebar and comfortable floor boards in lieu of separate footrests for the passenger. In addition, the C 650 GT presents a larger, powered windscreen for even better protection against wind and weather.

Ergonomics
•      C 600 Sport with dynamic seat position as a result of flatter handlebar, sporty seat design for both one and two persons, and sporty footrests for the passenger; seat height 810 mm.
•      C 650 GT with emphatically comfortable seat position as a result of higher handlebar, more comfortable and larger seat with adjustable backrest for the rider, and foot boards for the passenger as well; seat height 780 mm.
Windscreen
•      C 600 Sport with windscreen adjustable mechanically to three positions.
•      C 650 GT with larger windscreen adjustable electrically over 10 cm for even greater comfort and protection from wind and weather.
Body and design
•      C 600 Sport with sporty, spartan panels. The lean tail with the dynamic upswing and emphatic body edges lend it lightness and dynamics.
•      C 650 GT with an organic design language emphasising comfort attributes. Generously sized panel parts for outstanding comfort and protection against wind and weather.
Headlights, turn indicators, rear light
•      C 600 Sport: front turn indicators integrated in the panelling, twin circular headlights with two side lights on the left and right, LED rear light cluster with single turn indicators
•      C 650 GT: front turn indicators integrated in the mirrors, twin circular headlights with side lights between them presenting a vertical light strip of three elements, LED rear light cluster with integrated turn indicators.
Stowage space
•      C 600 Sport with world premiere FlexCase and hence variable stowage space concept in the tail under the seat. Despite its sporty, spartan tail section, two helmets can be easily stowed in the parked vehicle.
•      C 650 GT with a large stowage space of about 60 litres in the tail for taking two helmets and other utilities.

Toyota will introduce the Lexus brand in India by 2013 |Luxury Lexus launch in India confirmed

2012 Cars and Bikes |Specifications |Top speed |Price |Features |Mileage |Reviews |Photos |Videos |Test Drive |Colours |Technical Details |Price in india only on Velocityfreak.blogspot.com

Toyota has officially confirmed that it will introduce the Lexus brand in India by 2013. The Japanese carmaker has been evaluating the feasibility of its luxury brand in India for several years now and has finally decided to go ahead with the launch. “We have been watching India with keen interest and we are happy to announce that we will bring Lexus to India in 2013” confirmed Yukitoshi Funo, executive vice-president of Toyota Motor Corporation.
The Lexus range will be sold through dedicated dealerships, though several Toyota dealers are likely to take up the franchise to take advantage of their service set up that requires common equipment for both brands. However, Toyota will take a very cautious and diligent approach to appointing dealerships. “We would rather have a few, quality dealerships than a large number of mediocre outlets” said Funo who also emphasised that he wanted to differentiate Lexus from its German rivals. Last month Kazuo Ohara, who oversees the Lexus brand globally, made a visit to India and gave the green light after intense market research, which included studying the dealer and service outlets of other brands.
Toyota plans to follow a top-down strategy and the initial plan is to introduce the LS saloon and RX SUV, both premium luxury models. This is likely to be followed by the GS executive luxury saloon which competes directly with the E-class and 5-series.
The company will initially bring the Lexus range as imports or completely built-up (CBU) units to test the market before considering local assembly. “We need consider local production to compete with the others in the market, but this is still being studied,” said Funo. It is likely that the compact IS models will be locally assembled in time.
The initial feedback and market studies for the Lexus brand have been very encouraging. “The Indian consumers’ awareness of Lexus is quite surprising and much more than we anticipated,” said Funo. However, the challenge will be to price the cars competitively, especially since Lexus will initially import cars and will be at a cost disadvantage in comparison to rival luxury brands that locally assemble and hence pay lower duty. Also, there is no diesel engine in the Lexus range which could be another disadvantage. However, Lexus will introduce its hybrid technology, which could click with customers looking for the ultimate in refinement.

Tokyo : Fourteen luxury cars, including eight Ferraris, one Lamborghini, a Nissan GT-R and a, er, Prius, all tangled together on the Chugoku Expressway in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
Ten people were taken to hospital, but spare a thought for the insurers - the damage bill could add up to more than $3 million.

How the world's most expensive car crash happened..?

"The accident occurred when the driver of a red Ferrari was switching from the right lane to the left and skidded," Mitsuyoshi Isejima, executive officer for Yamaguchi Prefecture's Expressway Traffic Police unit, was reported as saying by Bloomberg News. "It was a gathering of narcissists." The drivers were aged between 37 and 60 years old, he said.

Video of the crash shows several smashed, bright red Ferraris cluttering the freeway.

Bimota DB10 Bimotard Features |Photos |Specs |Reviews |EICMA 2011

DB10 Bimotard. As the name suggests, it’s Bimota’s take on the Ducati Hypermotard, using the same Testastretta 1100cc L-twin engine found in the Hypermotard – but being a Bimota, it gets a hand-made tubular trellis frame, which extends down to an excellent-looking tubular-trellis swingarm.

The Bimotard features a 1078 cc, air-cooled, v-twin rated at 98 hp (at 7500 rpm).  In a package weighing a claimed 369 pounds dry, Bimota includes a frame that combines a steel trellis with machined aluminum pieces, and a massive Marzocchi 50 mm fork and an Extreme Tech shock, both fully adjustable.  The DB10 Bimotard also sports the current braking standard, i.e., radial-mounted, four piston Brembos in front squeezing 320 mm discs.
